Tom Ulshafer is President of Retail Operations for the Forcht Group of Kentucky. His responsibilities
include managing My Favorite Things in Hamburg Pavilion, along with special projects for nursing and
banking facilities. Previously, he was the Regional Merchandising Manager for Ethan Allen in Kentucky,
Indiana, Tennessee and Arkansas; Merchandising Specialist for Dillard’s in Lexington and Cleveland; and
also worked in advertising. Tom has also been the sole proprietor of a floral, gift and garden store in
northeast Ohio.
A native of Ashtabula, Ohio; Tom holds a BS in Advertising and Marketing from Kent State University. He
has been a past president of Big Brother/Big Sisters in Ohio; co-chair of fund raisers such as Bowl-for-
Kids’ Sake; and served on his church council. Tom has participated as a designer in the Kentucky
Governor’s Mansion Centennial Celebration; Woodford Humane Society Freedom Fest; Ombudsman
Agency of the Bluegrass Decorators Christmas Showcase; Home Builders Association of Lexington
Showcase of Homes; and National MS Society Crystal Boots & Silver Spurs.
A fun fact about Tom is that he designed and created the floral arrangements for scenes filmed at
Spindletop Hall in the Disney movie “Secretariat”.
