Mark Fritz is an ENT doctor who joined his practice to help deal with voice and swallowing issues. He has always enjoyed music and the opera. His mother was a music teacher, and he grew up playing the piano.
His first Lexington Opera experience was attending the ENCORE program back in ‘normal’ 2019. It was a wonderful experience to hear all of the UK students perform their hearts out! Mark says that although his own vocal endeavors have never carried him further than the car or shower, he has chosen a profession in Laryngiology where he takes care of patients’ voices, airways and throats every day. “I am serving on the Board of OperaLex because I want to support these talented voices in our Bluegrass not just by helping them stay healthy, but also by applauding their tremendous work.”
