Karen Rice Sellers is the Assistant Director of the State Board of Elections (SBE), an independent agency of the Commonwealth. Prior to residing in Lexington and joining SBE, Ms. Sellers’ career was previously as a health care executive in Eastern Kentucky where, among her duties, she provided oversight for the Highlands Foundation and Community Development activities. She is a native Kentuckian and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Advertising. Ms. Sellers serves on the Alice Lloyd College Board of Trustees, the Highlands Foundation Board of Directors, and is an active member of the Women’s Club of Central Kentucky. Ms. Sellers believes heightening public awareness of the arts in our community is important. Working among the talent associated with the UK opera program is a gratifying experience and Ms. Sellers is excited to help OperaLex sustain these valuable programs for the future.
