June Williams started out in her early years learning to appreciate great music. Driving all the way from Estill County, her parents brought her to the University of Kentucky Concert and Lecture series beginning when she was elementary school age and continuing for the next twelve or so years where she heard performances from many of the worlds’ greatest artists. She began piano lessons at EKU at the age of 5 adding voice and clarinet lessons later in her middle school years. She received degrees and
certifications from both EKU and UK. Her musical experiences beginning in college include: Europa Cantat in Namur, Belgium, The Stephen Foster Story (with future Met baritone, Richard Stillwell as Stephen), vocal director in the Lexington Musical Theater production of The King and I, past member of the Lexington Singers, past member of Musicks Company with the late Donna Boyd, director of three European Concert Tours with singers from Scott County and surrounding counties, played the Barbarina

June’s music teaching career includes Grant County Schools, Henry Clay High School and Scott County Schools where she established one of the earliest piano labs in the public schools in Kentucky at that time. Her choirs were well respected and given many accolades over the years as well as being chosen to perform with the Louisville Orchestra in one of their Christmas Specials. Over her career years and into retirement June has continued to teach some private voice and piano. One of her former students will be a senior this coming fall semester (2022) in the University of
