Dr. Frank C. Miller is a retired gynecologist, serving in both private practice and in the military and is a Professor Emeritus of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is a graduate of Murray High School, Murray State University, and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Frank’s military career as a doctor, both in full-time service and in the active Army Reserve, covered 26 years, taking him to serve in Hawaii, Germany, Texas, California, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., and in Kentucky. He served as an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, 1977-1983, as Professor and Chair of the Departments of OB/GYN at the University of Arkansas, 1983-1990, and the University of Kentucky, 1990-1999. He was President of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, President of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He was honored as “Fellow ad eundem” of England’s Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, was awarded the “Order of Military Medical Merit,” the “Distinguished Service Award” by the Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the “Distinguished Alumnus” award from Murray State University. Frank and wife Patricia have three grown children, and Murray, a distinguished havenese. Frank and Pat have marveled at the growth and quality of the UK opera program and of the UK School of Music since their arrival in Lexington in 1990.
