OperaLex provides financial support for the grand productions that Lexington and Kentucky have come to expect every time the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre takes the stage.

Behind the scenes, OperaLex support is helping educate the next generation of performers, educators and community leaders by providing recruiting funds, scholarships and defraying the cost of performance experiences and auditions for the hundreds of students who have earned vocal arts degrees at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels at the University of Kentucky.

Opera education is also a big part of our role. We take opera to grade schools around Kentucky through the Schmidt Opera Outreach Program and we provide opportunities for the community to experience and learn more about opera through newsletters, seminars and preview lunches.
